From The Lineage Of Jesse – December 3, 2015

Isaiah 11:1, A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
2The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—

If you missed the first few blogs this week, we are studying the word Advent, which is the combination of two Latin words that means “to arrive.” Of course, we are talking about the arrival of Jesus, God’s one and only Son.  Isaiah 11:1, it says, “A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. 2The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord-” Did you read those words from Isaiah about Jesus? He will bear much fruit, and will have all wisdom, understanding, counsel, might and knowledge. So often in our lives, we lack all of those. However, that is the beauty of Christmas; we don’t have to be without these all-important traits. All we have to do is look to Jesus who has all the wisdom, understanding, counsel, might and knowledge we will ever need.

Think about it, and have a blessed day!
